Building Makeover: from Agricultural to Residential
May 2020
In Zalakomárom the conversion and refurbishment of an old agricultural building resulted in a two-apartment residential building. The constructor removed 50-m3 slag fill from a 200-m2 surface of the concrete plate type floor. For relieving the loads on the floor, and thermal insulation, foam glass granules were incorporated between the beams. On the surface prepared in this manner a new concrete belt and a reinforced concrete slab was made for the construction of the mansard roof.
