Renovation of Deva Monastery

The monastery in Deva lead by Csaba Böjte was recently renovated, and the floor structure was rebuilt with 90 m3 Energocell® foam glass granules. The monastery will be converted to a visitor center, because regrettably it cannot be operated as a foster home. The concrete and vapour-tight membranes installed during previous renovations caused dampness, mold in the walls, and this became the source of many problems. After removing the old floor, on the prepared ground a floor system consisting of Energocell® granules, sand bedding and brick covering was built. With this thermally insulating and vapour permeable layer structure the drying out of the walls and the prevention of future damping is assured.
